Unannounced Motorola ‘LaJolla’ Android phone spotted in Motorola CLIQ seed code!
Motorola (New York Stock Exchange: MOT test) is making a big push with their Android batting order. Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s mobile operating organization is Motorola’s shoemaker’s last chance to bring itself out of its rut and take its place as one of the mobile industry’s hottest headphone makers, and by the looks of the CLIQ and the DROID, Motorola is wellspring on its means back to retrieval. But, it’s not just the high-end that Motorola is targeting – Motorola wants to shuffle Android phone as cheap as possible. And that’s where the Motorola “LaJolla” comes in.
Motorola just released the seed computer code for their Motorola CLIQ Android phone, and hidden within that computer code ar references to upcoming Motorola Android computer hardware. The computer code mentions the Motorola Morrison, Motus and Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, which doesn’t surprise us. What does surprise us, however, is the discovery of a new Motorola French telephone – the Motorola LaJolla (which means “the gem,” in Spanish). The LaJolla could be the first base of many Motorola Android phones aimed at the lower berth-oddment marketplace.
The LaJolla apparently features a Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM) 7201A ARM11 CPU clocked at 528Mhz, a Kionix accelerometer, and a Motorola Halo i2c touchscreen with 240 x 400 solving. Now, given the relatively slow C.P.U. and dinky screen resolution, we’re thought the LaJolla may be a lower berth-end Android phone. The CLIQ’s seed code also references a gimmick driver that might be a steer that the LaJolla will be a flip-phone Android French telephone – the first of its kind, as far as we know. Flip-headphone shape-factors are generally reserved for more down-range handsets, so all signs distributor point to the LaJolla being a cheap Android phone.
We can’t wait to see how Motorola realizes their vision for cheaper Android phones.
