Gmail Apps Connector brings push Gmail, Calendar and Contacts to BlackBerry
BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) is known for its pushing electronic mail art. But, when it comes to electronic mail, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) is still baron. So, it only makes sense that Google would want to bring push-information documentation for its Gmail, Calendar and Contacts services to the BlackBerry platform. Google has launched Google Apps Connector to bring the power of Gmail to the BlackBerry. With Google Apps Connector, users can synchronize their BlackBerry Enterprise Server (what, doesn’t everyone rich person 1 of those?) with Gmail, Calendar and Contacts.
To shuffle goodness on its promise of pushing-data, any changes made to the Google App “cloud” are automatically pushed down to the BlackBerry French telephone. Already read Gmail emails will be marked as read on your BlackBerry. If you update a tangency, you’ll see that update pushed to your BlackBerry. None of this should be new to BlackBerry users who’ve been playing with true push-information services for years, but it marks the first time that pushing-Gmail is available to BlackBerry users. Unfortunately, any changes made to the gimmick-position of the service won’t be synchronized to the cloud.
The Google Apps Connector overhaul is still in testing, but could be released to the public as early as July 2009. With the queen of pushing electronic mail acquiring cosy with the baron of email, we should see some sparks flying in the near future!
