BlackBerry Fool – RIM to launch App World on 1st of Apr?

BlackBerry fans, shuffle sure you bell ringer the 1st of April down in your calendars. Research in Motion are expected to announce Apr Fools’ Day as the functionary launching appointment for its BlackBerry App World portal. BlackBerry App World is RIM’s long-awaited solution to the iTunes App Store, and will allow BlackBerry users to download a whole cargo of programs and applications for their devices.

It is thought that most of the apps available volition be tailored for stage business and enterprise users (currency converters, additional alphabets, that sort of thing) but there volition be fun stuff too. The BlackBerry Storm signposted RIM’s desire to relocation in a more consumer-oriented direction and this will be reflected in the App World catalog too.

Update: no functionary word on this has been released by RIM, although CEO Mike Lazaridis is expected to open the App World doors to the worldly concern when he takes the stage at wireless industry’s annual trade appearance in Las Vegas in the 1st.
